With the goal of promoting a healthier workplace as well as being more respectful of those who find tobacco smoke offensive, a new smoking policy will be put into effect beginning Monday, April 9 ,2012. This policy change is directed at all Global Employment Solutions employees currently on assignment at The Houston Chronicle. We no longer will allow smoking adjacent to the building anywhere on Texas Avenue or Milam Street. Smokers are permitted (1) on Travis Street but not within 50 feet of Texas (2) on Prairie Street but not within 50 feet of Milam. Additionally, no smoking is allowed near the dock entrance along Travis.
Smokers are required to avoid disposing of cigarette butts on the sidewalks along the building.
